Zoo Host

Our mission at Colchester Zoo is to give guests a great visitor experience. If you love our zoo and want to be a part of it and you have time to offer, becoming a Zoo Host could be just the thing for you.

Our commitment to excellent customer service is at the heart of this role, we are proud of our zoo and the conservation work we do and you will be at the forefront of sharing that enthusiasm with our guests.

Role Responsibilities

• Answering visitor questions
• Providing visitors with feedback methods
• Supporting staff with queue management
• Assisting with special events

Role Requirements

• At least 18 years old
• Available for a minimum of 1 day a week
• Good organisation skills
• Friendly and approachable
• Willingness to meet new people
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work as a team
• Willingness to be outdoors in all weathers
• Knowledge of the zoo is desirable but not essential
• Training will be provided

Working hours: minimum of 1 day per week, weekend and school holiday availability desirable
